Empowering Democracy: Larsa’s Role in Citizen Participation

At Larsa, we are proud to be part of initiatives that aim to empower citizens and enhance democracy within our community. Our recent participation in a panel discussion as part of the Democracy Enhancement Program, supported by the People’s Aid Organization (PAO), underscores our commitment to these goals. Representing Larsa was one of our esteemed administrative board members, who contributed valuable insights to the dialogue.

This session, organized in collaboration with the “I am Basrawi” organization, centered on the pivotal role of the Basra Provincial Council in fostering citizen participation in the decision-making process. The discussions highlighted how crucial it is for citizens to be actively involved in shaping the future of their community and how local governance structures can facilitate this engagement.
