Larsa Launches Ain Al-Basra Mobile App to Enhance Environmental Governance and Public Services
As part of the GreenTech Project, Larsa Organization is proud to announce the release of the Ain Al-Basra mobile application—now available on app stores. Developed in partnership with Un Ponte Per (UPP) and in coordination with Basra Governorate, the app marks a key milestone in harnessing technology to promote environmental responsibility and civic engagement.
The GreenTech Project aims to advance environmental governance in Basra through digital innovation, institutional training, and targeted awareness campaigns in universities and local communities. By encouraging public participation and strengthening institutional responsiveness, the project seeks to build a more sustainable and environmentally conscious city.
The Ain Al-Basra app allows users to:
- Report issues such as road damage, waste accumulation, water leaks, and sewer malfunctions.
- Submit photos and descriptions for better case handling.
- Monitor the progress of their submissions in real-time.
- Receive timely updates through a streamlined digital platform.
Designed to facilitate communication with key municipal directorates—Municipality, Water, and Sewer—the app is an important tool for enhancing service delivery and public accountability in Basra.
The app’s current release serves as a community-driven tool to demonstrate how digital solutions can strengthen local governance and improve daily life. Further collaboration with local authorities is ongoing to expand and align the app’s functionality with public service systems.
