Larsa Participates in Dialogue Session to Strengthen Coordination Between Civil Society and Local Authorities in Basra

As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting inclusive governance and active civil society engagement, Larsa Organization participated in the dialogue and consultation session titled “Basra Builds Bridges: Strengthening Coordination Between Civil Society and Local Authorities”, held at the Conference Hall in Basra.

The session was organized by Un Ponte Per (UPP) under the Mubadara project, funded by the European Union, and was sponsored by the Basra Provincial Council with the support of Mr. Jaafar Sinkh Al-Hajaj, Member of the Provincial Council and Chairman of the Youth, Sports, and Civil Society NGOs Committee.

This important gathering brought together representatives from both the legislative and executive branches of the local government, alongside a diverse group of civil society organizations. Discussions focused on establishing a sustainable and organized channel of communication to foster a supportive environment for civil society work and to promote inclusive local decision-making.

Larsa Organization, along with other participants, contributed to shaping recommendations for enhancing cooperation and ensuring that the voices of women and youth are effectively integrated into development processes—laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and participatory future in Basra.
