Signing of a Joint Cooperation Agreement with IHCHR
The Basra Office of the High Commission for Human Rights organized a ceremony for signing twelve (12) joint cooperation agreements at the headquarters of Larsa Organization in Basra, in collaboration with the Provincial Council, with the participation of Basra Governorate, and in joint preparation with Larsa Organization.
The event was held as part of the first phase with active civil society organizations. The agreements were signed by the Director of the Basra Office of the High Commission for Human Rights, representing the Advisor to the Commission in Iraq, with the heads of twelve (12) local organizations. Larsa Organization was among the signatories, in a step aimed at strengthening institutional partnerships and promoting joint work in the field of human rights.
The ceremony was attended by a member of the Basra Provincial Council, the Head of the Youth, Sports, and Civil Society Committee, as well as the Head of the NGO Affairs Division at the Basra Governorate Office, reflecting the importance of cooperation between government institutions and civil society organizations in supporting human rights initiatives and strengthening their presence at the local level.
This initiative, launched by the High Commission for Human Rights – Iraq, reaffirms the importance of expanding cooperation with civil society organizations, contributing to the promotion of human rights culture, supporting active community roles, and serving the local community in Basra.
