Larsa Completes Second Digital Resilience Workshop
Larsa Organization successfully concluded its second capacity-building workshop on 20–21 May 2026 in Basra, bringing together 27 participants from civil society, the private sector, international organizations, and Basra’s youth digital community.
The two-day workshop, titled “Digital Resilience for Youth Content Creators & Civil Society Campaigners,” is the second of three workshops under a digital resilience programme. The programme aims to strengthen the capacities of civic and media actors in southern Iraq in countering disinformation and protecting themselves in digital spaces.
Participants engaged with two intensive training modules: Countering Disinformation & Digital Fact-Checking, covering six axes and twelve practical tools, and Digital Security for Online Campaigners, covering four axes and thirty tools — all drawing on real Iraqi case studies and hands-on exercises.
Training was delivered by Bassam Al-Alwachi, Chairman of Larsa (MSc Information Security & Digital Forensics, University of East London), and Israa Al-Nahwai, Larsa Board Member (BSc Computer Engineering, University of Basra).
